Strawberry Nutella Crepes

This has been something that I've wanted to make for a long time, just couldn't do it with the boyfriend around since he dislikes fruits :P

I found a basic crepe recipe online from Allrecipes.com. It requires pantry staples so it's not difficult to find/make. For a batch that yields 2 servings (which turns out just gave me 3 average sized crepes but supposed to produce 4) follow these measurements & directions on the website:

- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted

mMMmm chocolateee
I spread some Nutella down the middle and placed the washed & sliced strawberries on top. It was pretty delicious, not overly sweet and pretty filling.

Future plans: make savory crepes! Crepes-A-Go-Go in Gaithersburg has delicious spinach, mushroom, and caramelized onion crepes and other crepes with chicken. It shouldn't be difficult to put something together once I have all of the ingredients.

Kimchi Fried Rice

I love fried rice. I love rice in general. And I also love spicy stuff like kimchi. I was somewhat lucky enough to find kimchi at my local Boston Star Market (tiny jar for about $5) so I decided to give kimchi fried rice a try. I made some rice earlier in the day and threw it in the fridge (because cold refrigerated rice is necessary for fried rice). Some veggies were chopped up (broccoli, Taiwanese cabbage, and onions) and thrown in the pan with garlic and peas and the whole jar of kimchi (which wasn't too much). 2 scrambled eggs and additional Sriracha were added to add more flavor.

The thing that I dislike about making fried rice is that my wrist gets so sore from trying to mix things around. Maybe I should get a wok...

Next time I have to get real kimchi from an Asian market. But for this meal (which will last me many meals), American packaged kimchi will have to do. I also want to fry an egg and place it on top of the rice in the future to make it look pretty!

First post!

I decided to start this blog because I am 1) jealous of other people's food blogs 2) always thinking of my next meal, and 3) want to document recipes and restaurants that I go to that provide cheap delicious food.

The name was provided by the boyfriend (and although the name exists, my concept is completely different than theirs. I have absolutely no knowledge of economics whatsoever!) and I love cooking with him. Really, I have no other expectations for this blog other than that I can go back and see the delicious meals that I have consumed :]
